National Service Scheme, popularly known as NSS, was launched in 1969 (Gandhi Centenary year) and aimed at developing students' personality through community service. The overall objective of the National Service Scheme is Education. This objective is attained through the service of the community.
The NSS Unit of Career College was started in 1997-1998, and the NSS Committee was constituted in 1998-1999. When the college started the NSS Unit, very few students showed interest in it. However, with time, the Unit grew significantly, and a large number of students registered as NSS volunteers. In line with this, many programmes have been organized by the NSS Unit through various Departments in the college, and yearly reports have been submitted.
As the college is involved enormously in community programmes and in reaching out to rural interiors, a large number of students are joining as volunteers. Students who wish to join as an NSS volunteer in the Unit are required to fill out a form, which is kept as an official record, and their documents are handed to the University.
